At Flat Panel Display, a Joint Venture from i.a. Philips, Frank gained extensive knowledge with LCD screen production, technologies and products. As head of the Vertical Engineering department he was responsible for the Process, Product and Test engineering groups. Also he coordinated the integral yield improvement activities, boosting the initial <2% yield to levels over 70%. Initially this was done by solving fundamental problems, later by defect reduction, defect tolerant designs and smart repair strategies. 

Frank was also involved in the process transfer from Japan and he was responsible for the integral introduction of new products. He led a few projects in this field, including some for demanding automotive customers.

In a later stage he made use of these experiences during his Interim Engineering Manager period at Biometrix, where the technology of electronics on glass was used to produce large X-ray sensors.
